Site Renovation
Monday, March 01, 2004

Lately we've been working hard to bring the entire FlyingCracker web site up to snuff. The basic idea is to make the site layout consistent and to use modern formatting systems which allow viewing on non-traditional platforms such as cellular phones and palm-top computers. So our frame-dependent and table-based pages are thrown out in favor of Cascading Style Sheets, divs, and XHTML 1.0 Strict compliance. If you are confused by these buzzwords, believe me when I tell you that we were just as much in the dark not so very long ago.

If you have comments about the format or style, or questions about the entire process please feel free to send us an email: graham at flyingcracker dot com.

Next up: bringing the weather page into conformance and compliance and improvements to the cocktail section including a new ingredient-based cocktail selector. If you have suggestions please send them along!

For those of you who care about such things, we're using FogCreek's excellent CityDesk content management software to maintain the site.
