Winter Holiday Punches
Saturday, November 01, 2003

Don't look now, but the holiday party season is right around the corner. October 26th is the end of Daylight Savings Time (surely that deserves a party!) and of course Halloween is a time for serious mischief-making. Then of course we have Election Day (Nov. 4), Veterans Day (Nov. 11), and Thanksgiving (Nov. 27). In December we have Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Years Eve (also known as Amateurs Night). So now is the time to start testing and planning your party libations. Check the Party Punches section at left for a number of high quality recipes.

If you are planning a decadent night of Halloween debauchery, a party so wild that revelers drive nearly one hundred miles over frigid mountain passes just to attend, head straight to the Fish House Punch and Truth Serum Punch recipes. These time-tested favorites are just what the doctor (Jekyll?) ordered. Fish House Punch is a classic, century-old rum punch, while Truth Serum Punch is a whiskey-sour type bourbon punch which absolutely lives up to its name.

For those chilly November and December parties you might want to consider the Brandy Alexander or Pat's Eggnog. These timeless classics will have Grampa nodding his head in approval. Try one (or all) and let us know what you think!
